Dear Father Christmas,

Hallo! How are you? Hope you are doing well and the Elves too.

I just wanted to tell you what happened today. I went for shopping in a big Mall in Nairobi and I was sweating like a camel because it was 30 degrees outside. Finally I got in and the cool air from the air conditioner embraced me. Enjoying the fresh breeze I took a look around me. The owners always do a great job on Christmas time putting shining balls and coloured lights all over the place. The Christmas Carol helps the Christmas mood. It was just finishing a Frank Sinatra version of Winter Wonderland..oh how I love this song. Wait a moment, are you serious Winter Wonderland?

No, maybe I was wrong let's listen to the next one...Let it snow. I paid more attention on the Christmas decorations around me: a Palm with lights, that's okay, some Christmas trees branches full of Christmas Balls, that's quiet fine since there are not those kind of trees in Kenya, oh look a cute Snow man...what, a snowman? And several Father Christmas skying?

Children and adults where taking pictures with a you dear Father Christmas wearing your warm clothes and they where watching the secret dream of Olaf from forzen coming true: a snowman not melting under the sun.

Shocked by this vision I entered in a shop looking for a Christmas socks to hang on the wall. I finally found it, with a snowflacke. I didn't buy it as well the polyester snow, the holly and the teddy bears wearing gloves and warm hat.

The truth Father Christmas is that in half of the word Christmas is winter and in the other half is summer. So I write you to invite you, Mrs Christmas, the Elves and all the company to leave the North Pole and enjoy us in our Christmas days. Kenya is a cool place where you can enjoing your time wearing a red T-shirt, some black sandals and drinking a cold Tusker showing us how can be amazing our hot Christmas time. Because dear Father Christmas we need to stick on what we have, not looking for something different from what we are.

Thank you

Mama Jo
