Here I'm,
It has been quite some time since I wrote the last post but December has been crazy. A friend told me that December is always heavier than people think: I have to agree. So here a quick post about what happened in these weeks, how we spent Christmas and the news for 2016!!
Giovannino steps: last time I wrote about my cute baby he was starting to eat solid foods. Now we are fruit lovers (apple is not his favorite but he loves bananas, avocados, pawpaw and mangoes- really an African!!) and baby food addicted. Since last Saturday we introduced the lunch: rice cream made with butternut and potatoes stock. Olive oil and parmisan (thank you Auntie!) to give it a new taste! So he loves solid food and has even started to drink milk better. Another step we made is sitting! Finally he is able to sit properly, very rarely falling down. Playing with him now is on another level and we enjoy so much to spend time with him. The house is not ready yet for crawling (and I guess it will never be) so we are enjoying our last quiet moments!
Christmas day with Simon's family: we spent our Christmas day in our place and we invited my mother and brothers in law to join us for lunch. I really re-evaluated my past Christmases when I was just sitting on a chair and eat everything my grandparents prepare (thank you grandmothers you are super). This time I cooked for almost two days, food was nice and the company too. Christmas in Kenya is very different from Italian and its always so difficult to adapt. In any case it's an adventure so we keep on going!
My parents visit: my parents (alone, now we are waiting for my sisters!!!) came to visit us for some days. We squeezed in the house (that was looking more as a Gipsy caravan than a house) and we spent some nice days having adventures (as you can read on a post on my facebook page) but mostly we enjoyed our life, relaxing. Having some baby sistters around has been nice but (I don't know why) it made me soooo tired.
Now let's talk about 2016 vision.
Baby Jesus's gifts: as some of you know my know I'm a job seeker. Finding a job in Kenya is a daunting task, all vacancies (in my field of study) have very high requirements of experience (that I don't have) adding more problems like work permit and much more. But I don't give up, I continue to apply but meanwhile I decided, with the great support from my husband and a bunch of friends, to start my own business. Thanks to a donation I got the funds to buy some stationeries and useful materials....are you courious? Very well!!! Soon you'll know what is boiling in the pot.
Next steps for my blog: I've to become social, It's so difficult for me but is something I'm tryng. So as you can see on the right side I added social tags. You can find me on facebook, twitter (I don't know yet how to use it but I will learn, promise) and pintrest. Pintrest is my last discover: I love it so much and is an useful tool to use when I've baby Giovannino sleeping in my arms. Pintrest will give you a clue of what I'm preparing!!!
Another news is the tag #allaroundthefireplace (very long I know!!). This will be a nice way to share our lifes and interests. I offer a space for whoever wants to write something about something (on condition that it is not offensive or against the aim of my blog). So if you want to add a post just write tomy email address and I'll answer as soon as possible!
So that's all for now. I wanted to be short and as usual I wasn't but...you know me!!!
