Great Expetations. This is one of my favorites books and is the monthly theme of the StorMoms (an Italian community of blogger moms).

My great expetations; I think I can say that I'm exactly where I should be; where I desired to be and where I was called to be.

Yes I live in Kenya, in Africa. Long time ago was born the desire to discover this continent; from high school, when we had a workshop about Africa, and through the encounter with stories and faces. Then something I can't explain. There was that call, inside.

I studied sociology to be able, one day, to leave and after 5 years of studies finally I made it. I left and I met the man who changed my life, changed how I looked at it: my husband.

We needed 4 more years to be finally united in the same continent. 4 difficult years. 4 years of fatiguing and of work. Yeas a relationship is like a house, needs work. But what was more difficult to me was the job side. In Italy I had many job opportunities and when my "career" was almost settled I had to move. But my roots where not in Milan (my home town) any more. And now I'm doing exactly the same job I was doing before, the one I loved.

Then arrived Giovanni, unexpected but desired. We desired a child (me one day...not so soon). And he arrived when the doctor where saying was not possible. And, instead, he was there, already, fighting for his life with his enthusiasm,

My great expectations so are placed here...in the big and small call that the life place for us in our path. Our lives are like the constellations; many small stars that seems just shinning in the immensity of the universe. Instead Someone else connected them for us, tracing a beautiful draw for our lives.
