Our FIRST birthday

Hallo Friends!
Yesterday a big event took place and I couldn't talk about it with you. Our son, Giovanni, feasted his first birthday! Yes he is already one year old and could we not feast this event? So we decided to do something very simple inviting few friends to our house. This decision of inviting few friends turned in the occasion to see who are the friends who have accompanied us the most in the pat year. Giovanni is small but he can clearly give the preference to the people so we used these two criteria to invite people. The theme (yes this was the excuse to craft something) was the car (not cars the movie, car the vehicles) so I made an "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" banner with some carton and decotape, I made the table mat with paper drawing a road and decorating with cars (ye there were even some animals in the bush) and some shapes of cars. I forgot to take picture to some cars I made with tissue paper roller (sigh they were so nice)
We planned everything to stay outside but when we woke up started to rain. We were not sure to confirm the party or postpone it because the space inside is little. So than we decided to remove my craft wall and we folded the bed of Giovanni in order to transform his bedroom in a play room. In any cae there were so many children that was not possible to stay in the house so, seeing some sun outside, we moved in the "garden" mounting the badminton set and let them playing with the sand toys.
What has been really beautiful to see was the reaction of Giovanni. At the beginning a tragedy, crying every second or he wanted only to stay in our harms. Slowly slowly he started to be confident, he wore his shoes and went outside, following his friends. He stayed looong time in the "garden" jut playing with stones and soil. It's so amazing looking at him while making his first steps (in all the meanings).
The funny note is that we rushed with the cake and the candle because after all this playing he was so tired that started to dozed. While we sang happy birthday he literally collapsed. This has been a wonderful occasion for all of us, sharing our joy with our dearest friends.
