Hallo Friends!!
Here we are with a new blog post...today I'm trying to write as much a possible because I really neglected this poor blog. So many things have happened and especially we visited places and I can't wait to share with you all the new adventures we lived.
July has been a very busy month because the school closed (second term ended). As all teachers know the last month before closing day is just crazy and millions of things needs to be done. So mostly I spent the month focusing on closing activities, evaluation of the first month and meeting with teachers. Has been a busy period but rich of discoveries and new challenges to face in the next term.
At the end of the month my sisters and my mum come to visit us. Silvia spent two weeks with us while Lucia and mum one month. The Providence helped us with the accommodation (a small self catered room cut out from the landlady's house). Giovanni has spent a wonderful time with them. I've been really impressed on how he welcomed them, without even crying once (very strange for him that is not really super friendly at the first sight).
Taking advantage of the presence of my sister Lucia we organized a fun activity in school, teaching to the children Irish dances. Actually very few of my colleagues believed in this mission impossible: teach to all the school (children from 6 to 13 years) a dance. Instead it has been possible (we don't know how) and children enjoyed the time we spent together. I've to say....I seem one of those dancing hippos of Fantasia. I was not suppose to dance because there were Lucia and Silvia but she felt sick so I had to learn and practice the whole day before. Okay now my colleagues know I'm completely crazy.
Once the school closed I relaxed a bit even if the work of creating new items was waiting for me.
My mum and sisters brought many new tools to create new items and I've not even finished to study all of them. Meanwhile I produced some things that are going to fly to Italy, new cards, new embellishments and new projects/opportunities are developing (I will talk about this soon, meanwhile crossed fingers for me!). A great opportunity that has been given me was to do a training to my formal colleagues, the educators of AVSI Foundation in Kenya. I've been really happy to share with them not only what I know to do but even all the discoveries I've done in the past months. Has been really a wonderful occasion to brainstorm on what I've learned and to share my passion with them. We had a fun time (actually they didn't want to stop crafting despite was late and we didn't eat) but especially I've discovered that when you have a gift or when you know to do something the greatest thing you can do is to share with others.
In August I had, even, my first time in the First Aid. After three nights without sleeping due to a terrible back-hake I decided to go to Aga Khan Hospital. I've to say that I felt very comfortable there (especially after one injection of painkiller) and everything solved with an intestinal infection (yes nothing concerning with the back).
Giovannino, called Cicciobis, is always the happiest person in the house. Now he loves to explore the outside (everythime the main door is opened he run outside and many tragedies happen when he can't go outside), playing with duplo and sensorial activities...don't worry there will be many posts about his adventures.
Lastly but not list me and Mr. Kingo we feasted our second year of marriage. Let's say this year has been quieter than the first one and have been a gift.
Well now I'll leave you with some photos and I wait for you in the next blog post!
