Hallo Friends!
Here I'm with a new post about my creative work. Today I would like to share with you my greatest love: the paper. In this last months when I enter in a shop where they sell paper is like for other women to enter in shoe/handbag shop. I love the smell of papers, the different colours, the texture but mostly how many things you can do with a simple piece of paper. So in the last year I develop a kind of culture about paper, starting to know what i available locally, the qualities and to find the best suppliers. Despite what many people think everything I use is bought locally and transformed in something new. I have some materials that come from abroad but I always prefer to use what I can find here so that I can make the same creations over and over.
The first type of paper I met is the shy ones. These paper are used mostly for weddings (okay only for wedding invitations) and I've to be sincere was not first love. But manipulating them, embossing, combining colours and sometimes painting them we slowly slowly felt in love. The shop where I buy them is called Burhani, a shop owned by an Indian family, in down down down town (go only if you are brave!!). The very nice thing of that shop is the quality, the variety and the fact that I'm the only European who goes there so they remember me and they are very friendly! Another positive fact is that when I go out from the shop I usually ahve a big roll of heavy papers that I can use as arm against spiteful people.
Here are some few samples of the works I've done (of course my favourites!!)
Of course for Christmas I'm using these papers a lot...but you've to wait up to December to know more about it.
See you in next post!!
Marty
